About the Project

Royal Castle is a well-known Caribbean fast food franchise with an existing visual identity and loyal customer base. When they hosted the Chick N Run Fun Run, a community 5K and 10K walk and run event, the branding needed to borrow credibility from the franchise while standing on its own as an event worth showing up to.

The project covered everything from the official event flyer through to social media graphics and printed assets used on the day.

The Goal

The event needed to feel community-focused and energetic without drifting too far from the Royal Castle brand. Yellow, black and red, pulled directly from the franchise’s existing colour palette, became the foundation for a visual direction that felt bold and high-energy while maintaining that visual familiarity.

The materials had to work hard across a range of formats. Printed posters and event day flyers needed to communicate clearly at a distance. Social media graphics covering registration, FAQs, parking, volunteering and route maps needed to hold the same visual standard post after post.

Strategic Insights

An established brand is a head start, not a constraint. Royal Castle came with built-in recognition. Using the franchise’s colours as the event palette meant the branding felt immediately connected to a name people already trusted, without needing to build that credibility from scratch.

A community event has to feel like everyone belongs in it. The visual tone had to be welcoming and inclusive, appealing to serious runners and first-time participants equally. Too competitive and it alienates the casual crowd. Too soft and it loses the energy that makes a fun run worth entering.

Event social media is logistical as much as it is promotional. Beyond building excitement, the social media graphics had to communicate real information clearly: where to park, how to register, what the route looked like, who could volunteer. The design system had to make practical content feel just as considered as the promotional posts.

Solution

The event identity was built around Royal Castle’s yellow, black and red palette, applied with bold typography and energetic layouts that matched the spirit of a community run. The official event flyer and event day flyer anchored the visual direction, which then extended into a full suite of social media graphics covering every stage of the event journey from registration through to race day.

Printed assets were designed to hold up at scale, ensuring the brand looked just as strong on a poster as it did on a phone screen.

The Results

The Chick N Run Fun Run launched with a cohesive visual presence that felt energetic, community-driven and unmistakably Royal Castle. The materials carried the event from first announcement to the finish line, giving participants a consistent brand experience across every touchpoint they encountered along the way.
