SOCA Heart Project 2025

WHAT?
SOCA Heart Project is a cardiovascular health awareness initiative that brings the community together through a 5K and 10K walk and run event held each September. The 2025 project covered the full visual campaign for the event, from the first save the date through to race day printed materials.

WHY?
The organisation had an existing logo but needed a fresh visual identity built specifically for the 2025 edition, one that could carry a high volume of social media content consistently while building genuine momentum toward the event.

FOR WHO?
Community members of all fitness levels united by a shared purpose, whether they were running 10K, walking 5K or simply showing up in support of heart health awareness.

About the Project

SOCA Heart Project is an annual community event held in recognition of Cardiovascular Awareness Month. Each September, it brings people together through movement and shared purpose, using a 5K and 10K walk and run as the anchor for a broader campaign around heart health.

For 2025, the organisation needed new event branding built on top of their existing logo, along with a full social media campaign and printed materials to support the event from announcement to finish line.

The Goal

The brief had two parts. The first was visual: build a cohesive identity for the 2025 event that felt energetic and health-focused without losing the community warmth at the heart of the initiative. The second was operational: produce a high volume of social media content that stayed consistent across every post, from training schedules and volunteer calls to route maps and vendor announcements.

Red anchored the palette, with purple, blue and green used as complementary colours to add range across the campaign without breaking visual cohesion.

Strategic Insights

A health event has to feel motivating, not clinical. Cardiovascular awareness carries real weight as a subject. The branding had to acknowledge that seriousness while still communicating the energy and community spirit that makes people want to participate. Too medical and it loses its warmth. Too casual and it undermines the purpose behind it.

Sustained campaigns need a system, not just a style. With over twenty individual social media graphics covering every aspect of the event, from the fireside chat and fruit festival to the step challenge and race packet pickup, visual consistency across that volume required a disciplined design approach from the start. Each post needed to feel like part of the same campaign regardless of the information it was carrying.

Printed materials extend the brand into the physical space. The banners and printed assets used on event day were the final touchpoint in a weeks-long campaign. Getting those right meant the brand that participants had been seeing online showed up just as considered when they arrived in person.

Solution

A fresh visual identity was developed for the 2025 event, built on the existing SOCA Heart Project logo and anchored in red with purple, blue and green as supporting colours. The identity was applied across the full campaign, starting with the save the date and main event flyer, then extending into a comprehensive library of social media graphics that covered every stage of the event journey.

The same visual system carried through to the printed banners and materials used on the day, ensuring the brand held together across every format and touchpoint from the first post to the finish line.

The Results

SOCA Heart Project 2025 went to market with a cohesive visual campaign that matched the scale and purpose of the event. The consistent branding across social media and print helped build recognition and engagement throughout the campaign period, and gave the event a polished, professional presence that reflected the importance of what it was raising awareness for.
