Mars Anime & Comic Convention
WHAT?
MARS Anime and Comic Convention is a pop culture event bringing together fans of anime, comics, gaming and cosplay. For the 2025 edition, the project covered all visual materials needed to promote and support the convention across digital and physical channels.
WHY?
An event at this scale lives and dies by its promotional presence. The materials had to do serious work online before the doors ever opened, and then carry that same energy into the physical event space.
FOR WHO?
Anime fans, cosplayers, gamers and comic enthusiasts who expect the visual language of an event to match the culture they are showing up to celebrate.
Scope of work
- Event Flyer Design
- Social Media Graphics
- Printed Event Materials
- Signage
About the Project
MARS Anime and Comic Convention is one of Guyana’s premier pop culture events, drawing fans of anime, comics, gaming and cosplay under one roof. For the 2025 convention, I was brought on to design the full suite of visual materials needed to promote the event and bring the brand to life on the ground.
The work spanned the entire promotional journey, from the first social media posts building anticipation to the printed signage and materials attendees encountered on the day.
The Goal
The brief was about energy, first, and consistency, second. The designs needed to stop people mid-scroll, communicate the scale and excitement of the event, and do it in a visual language that felt native to the audience. At the same time, every piece had to feel like it came from the same place, whether seen on a phone screen or printed on a sign at the venue.
A full range of social media graphics covered individual event activities, ticket information, vendor announcements and engagement content, all working together to build momentum in the weeks leading up to the convention.
Strategic Insights
The audience has a high visual standard. Anime and comic con attendees are immersed in some of the most visually considered media in the world. Generic or half-finished designs would be noticed immediately. The work had to feel like it belonged in the same universe as the culture it was representing.
Promotional materials are the first experience of the event. Before anyone walks through the door, the social media graphics are the convention. The quality and energy of those designs set expectations. Getting that right meant the event already felt worth attending before a ticket was purchased.
Consistency across volume is its own challenge. With a large number of individual social media graphics covering different activities, guests and announcements, keeping every piece visually cohesive without making them feel repetitive required a disciplined design system underneath the surface variety.

Solution
A bold, high-energy visual direction was established for the 2025 event and applied consistently across every touchpoint. The main event flyer anchored the visual language, which then extended into a full library of social media graphics covering competitions, activities, ticket locations, vendor highlights and engagement posts.
The same visual system carried through into the printed materials and event signage, ensuring the brand felt just as considered in the physical space as it did online.
The Results
MARS 2025 went to market with a cohesive promotional presence that matched the scale of the event. The visuals built genuine excitement in the lead-up, held up across every format and contributed to an on-the-ground experience that felt polished and purposeful from the entrance to the floor.
