About the Project

Majikku Shoppe is an anime and merchandise retail brand that expanded into its own physical storefront. Heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli, the brand wanted a rebrand that felt refreshed while staying true to the original story behind the business. The focus was on evolving the existing mascot logo and visual system without losing the charm and familiarity their loyal audience already loved.

The Goal

The goal was to modernise the brand while preserving its core identity. This meant keeping the original colour palette and mascot concept, maintaining similarities to the existing logo, and refining the design with a cleaner, more polished look. Another key objective was to build a flexible mascot system that could be used across different scenarios, seasons, and marketing materials, as well as creating in store design elements that aligned with the brand’s whimsical, anime inspired aesthetic.

The Results

The final outcome was a refreshed mascot logo that maintains the original colours and imagery with a more contemporary feel. Additional mascot variations were created in multiple poses and scenarios, along with a holiday themed version of the logo. A Studio Ghibli inspired glass storefront font design was developed, and brand visuals were applied across social media, banners, and in store elements. The result is a more cohesive, immersive brand experience that feels consistent across digital and physical spaces, supporting Majikku Shoppe’s growth into a full retail destination.
